Nach zwei Jahren der Inkompetenz, der Korruption und der Lasterhaftigkeit der Demokraten - mit einer Inflation auf einem 40-Jahres-Hoch, keinem Wirtschaftswachstum, zügelloser Kriminalität, Anarchie an den Grenzen, Angriffen auf die bürgerlichen Freiheiten, Verboten fossiler Brennstoffe und öffentlich subventionierter Genitalverstümmelung - haben die Republikaner nur eine knappe Mehrheit der Sitze im Repräsentantenhaus gewonnen und einen Sitz im Senat verloren. Und warum? Schlechte Qualität der GOP-Kandidaten? Nein. Wahlbetrug? Nicht genug. Abtreibungsproblem? Möglicherweise. Aber die einfachste Erklärung ist vielleicht die beste: Eine Mehrheit der amerikanischen Wähler bevorzugt eine irrationale, antikapitalistische Politik.
