The Atlas Society's core mission is to develop and promote Objectivism:  the philosophy of reason, individualism, achievement, and freedom.

 We are directly involved with the development and promotion of the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy and are planning a significant expansion of our operations.  We are looking to fill these positions immediately!

 

Internship - Atlas Shrugged Capital Campaign

The Atlas Society is raising $1MM to support the Atlas Shrugged movie trillogy and to promote the key ideas from the novel.  You can find the details of the capital campaign at  http://www.atlassociety.org/atlas-shrugged-movie-capital-campaign .  Our approach is to reach small donors as well as a select group of large potential donors.  We are looking for interns to assist in:

Fundraising:

  • Researching and identiying potential large donors
  • Developing and maintaining a database of potential donors
  • Drafting letters to potential donors
  • Developing social media campaigns to reach smaller donors
  • Implementing a communications strategy

Program Execution:

  • Assisting with Event Planning (large movie premieres as well as smaller multi-city events)
  • Student outreach - interacting with students through social media and through on-campus activities in support of the movie and the book
  • Inbound marketing:  Assisting with SEO, online marketing campaigns, and the creation of calls to action and landing pages, social and mobile marketing
  • Content development:  Assist in developing and implementing interactive online content related to Atlas Shrugged
  • Outbound marketing:  Assisting with the development of press releases, arranging media interviews

The candidate must be famliar with and passionate about the works of Ayn Rand and Objectivism.  The duration of the internships are flexible and there may be a longer term, full-time opportunity depending upon aptitude and results.

Internship - Summer Seminar (Marketing)

The Summer Seminar brings together the community of scholars, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and artists who have made open Objectivism a central part of their life and thought. Together, we explore the vision of a society committed to reason, independence, and productive achievement.  We are holding the 2012 Summer Seminar at the end of June in Washington DC.  We will begin promoting the seminar in January.  We are looking for an intern to assist with the marketing of the event.

  • Inbound marketing:  Assisting with SEO, online marketing campaigns, and the creation of calls to action and landing pages, social and mobile marketing
  • Affiliate marketing:  Developing and managing partnerships with websites that can earn a commission for attendees that sign up by clicking on a link from their sites
  • Outbound marketing:   Assisting with the development of press releases, arranging media interviews

The candidate must be familiar with and passionate about the works of Ayn Rand and Objectivism.  The duration of the internships are flexible and there may be a longer term, full-time opportunity depending upon aptitude and results.

Internship - The Atlas Society Online Store

The Atlas Society has developed an extensive catalog of audio, video, and print content over its 20 year history.  In 2012, we want to make this material available for sale to the public.  We are looking for an intern with ecommerce experience to help manage the merchandising and promotion of the store.  We are looking for interns with expertise in the following areas (we are open to working with multiple interns):

  • Familiarity with BigCommerce (or a similiar type of SAAS ecommerce platform)
  • Online merchandising experience
  • Understanding of social media and social commerce

The candidate must be familiar with and passionate about the works of Ayn Rand and Objectivism.  The duration of the internships are flexible and there may be a longer term, full-time opportunity depending upon aptitude and results.

Internship - Fundraising Technical Operations

The Atlas Society has recently migrated to Salesforce.com for donor management.  We are looking for an intern to help with the following tasks:

  • Developing insightful reports and dashboards for analyzing real-time and historical data
  • Automating reports and workflows for donor management
  • Reviewing and assisting in the development and implementation of best practices for online and offline fundraising procedures

The candidate must be familiar with and passionate about the works of Ayn Rand and Objectivism.   This is a part-time position that requires < 10 hours/week of time commitment.
